Meeting Date: 10/13/2009
Type: PSAAZK Monthly Meeting
Petricia Medici – There was a question about the money raised for Tapirs at the auction, whether it was for her or the Tapir Specialist Group? She also wanted to know if we were doing the conservation grants this year. These questions are being looked into.
A rhino card was passed around from national, it is an AAZK funraiser. National gets 50% and chapter gets 50%. They sell for $20 for 10 cards and we talked about breaking them up and selling per card $2. Another option is to get the Zoostore to buy and then we can get money towards our next charter and they as well as National can make some money?
There is a minimum to buy. Another fundraiser possibility is Partylight. There is nothing to buy, simple form, one size and dollar choice with limited scents. Pretty easy way to beef up our budget a little. Joanna has info, Amy will get with her to start this. Either fundraiser will be passed by the zoo management.
Conference profits are to be divided up into 1/3 to us, National, and ICZ. Numbers are still out on this. Should be finalized in the next week or two.
Appreciation Event – All Staff – cake or cupcakes for all. Steph will talk to Paula Karlburg and see about how much we need– Party- for just members and all helpers. Either at the ARC or the Common Room at Steph’s in West Seattle. Will come from AAZK general budget. Tuesday November 10 th, 6pm until whenever.
Kristi will take name badges with her to Philly.
Drives and proceedings from conference are still missing. . .
Next meeting in November will be in the Elephant Barn and we will organize and clean up.
Next forum articles due Nov 10 th if anybody wants to write a post-conference article.
Sponsor post-conference thank-you’s by Joanna and Steve???
Holiday Auction – none this year, but Steph will make a post card to either email or send in mail. Voted to spend $25 on postage.

We would like as many people as possible to come to Wednesday the 21 st carving as possible. If you can not make it they (and we) would appreciate you helping other days as well. See below for info:
