AAZK Notes – January 3 rd, 2008

     

    Zoostore Sales -

    • For the month of December (2007), our zoostore sales were $2094.00 for everything
    • We will assess the post-holiday sales to see how things are moving since December was probably a busier month due to the holidays

    Candy Sales -

    • To date, we are at $3674.00 and still running at a 47% profit

    Upcoming events -

    Valentine’s Day –

    • Instead of selling stuff, we are going to do a “thank you” to all staff by baking desserts from our cookbook and giving them away at the end of the all-staff meetings in February. Staff will then have the opportunity to buy the cookbook if they so choose.
    • We will need people to help bake a minimum of two dozen cookies, bars, etc from the cookbook – look for an email from Amy coming in early February.

    March –

    • AAZK will be helping thrive! this year by manning the photo booth and taking pictures of the kids to give to them as a gift. AAZK will be receiving $450.00 from thrive! for this – we will be providing everything in this sum.
    • We will need volunteers to help man the photo booth the night of – food will be provided.
    • thrive! will be March 12 th in the Rain Forest Pavilion and will be featuring special guests, the Kratt Brothers.

    Fundraising Ideas -

    April –

    • Bunny Bounce – start thinking of ideas for the Bunny Bounce photo booth – will probably go with something standard like a rabbit or chicken costume.

    May –

    • Earth Day – may do another book/bake sale…start thinking of new ideas

    Summer ideas –

    • we may do some sort of cook-off/picnic
    • variety show is still on the list of ideas – would probably work best in the summer – probably for staff, volunteers, friends and family – would ask for donations to attend

    Sponsorship letters –

    • the sponsorship letters are done and just need to be approved (more of a formality than anything). Once approved, they will be ready to go.

    Next Meeting –

    • Februaury 7 th – we will be meeting in the ARC to do an appreciation lunch
    • Pizza, soda and dessert will be provided
