Minutes form AAZK meeting on 10-4-07

Photo Booth for Pumpkin Prowl

-     AAZK and conference logos and initials are going to be in the “Theme” signage. 

-     Cut outs for kids to stand by being built by the exhibits crew.

-     Chris Kleuner has hardware and software supplies, may need to buy a second printer as a back up

-     A flow of tables will be set up in the order of 1)collect money, 2)take photo, 3)print/pick up, and 4) they can also come back and pick up later.

-     We will have 3 generic signs for the event so we can use them at other events, Events will make other signs for advertising around zoo grounds.

-     Need to get people to sign up to help set up/tear down, work the event, and to dress up in characters.  Will need about 10 people total for each of the three nights.  Exhibits crew will help us tear down the next morning and we may be able to stage the items at the tent for the next night, not sure yet.

-     Pete has reserved 5 costumes for the three nights, they are only charging us one night and we have the costumes for the entire event.  We have 1 full wizard costume, 2 simple wizard costumes, and 2 ferry costumes.

Candy Sales

-     A total of $26454.05 has been raised, a profit of $1135,  about a 42% profit.

-     Steve has set up the books so we can track the profit of each fund raiser individually to get a better idea of what works the best.

Conference DVD -  Still working on re-building it, can’t find the all of the original data

Holiday Party – stuffing party to be announced, Stephanie Forbes has sent out some e-mails this week regarding the auction, please make yourself available to help in some way, the more the merrier and it is a fun event.

Cookbook and other fund raisers

Updates from Chris himself!!!!!!

Cookbook Update:  We have ordered 503 books using the illustrated cover design.  They should be arriving in approximately 7 weeks including one week for the company to layout the text in high quality for the cover.  

Photo Sales:  We sold 7 at BFR.  I ordered 13 more physical prints and I just have to print the flyer on the card stock, stuff them, and they are ready to go into the zoo store.  This should be completed on my return from NY.   

Animal Art/Prints:  We have received approval for the sales and last I heard Carolyn was gathering things to place in the zoo store.

Meeting days for 2008

We voted to have the meetings remain on the first Thursday of the month, except when there is a holiday and then it will be moved to the second Thursday.  And besides with all of the conference meetings already scheduled there was no way to have this on a different day.
