AAZK minutes from 8/2/07

·     Point Defiance Zoo outing- 8/12/07- those attending either meet at PDZ at 10:30 or organize a car pool.

·     DVD-trouble with raw footage getting it in one spot to make another copy, Chris and Pete working on it.

·     Photo booth-printer, paper, ink ordered-this is about $200.00 worth of supplies.  Still need camera and computer.

This will be set up in the savanna area with a backdrop for events,

Cost/pic is ~ $1.50 a picture with exception of extra ink and paper needs, if we price them to sell at $10.00 a picture, which seems to be the average price, we will start making a profit after 34 pictures.

·     Zoo Store pictures- will have a trial run at BFR before selling at the store, our cost is ~ $4.00/pic and we will sell for $20.00.  There will be a work party possibly next week for mounting and labeling.

·     Cookbook- Amy Davis has all the items, Lara M. is willing to rename some of the recipes to have a more fun theme to the book, she will get in touch with Amy D.

·     Candy Sale- profit to date is $681.00, gross amount taken in is $1573.00

·     BFR- t-shirts $15.00 for short sleeve and $18.00 for long sleeve, Tote bag price will be decided later, still need to get supplies like utensils, plates, cups, will make a Costco run with someone.  As a side note we talked about getting an AAZK Costco membership.

·     Holiday Auction- will start planning after BFR, need to get the solicitation letters out in September.

·     Took a vote if AAZK will pay for Amy Davis and Pete McLane registration to AAZK conference, the outcome was YES.

·     Conference

Committee meetings- e-mail was sent out with the schedule and the attendees.  If you are on a committee and you received an e-mail about a meeting Please attend the meeting.  Since these are the first meetings it is important for all members to attend.  If you can not attend please let Stephanie Jacobs know.

There is a solicitation for Vice Chairs  for the conference.  If you are interested in being a vice chair e-mail Carolyn by this Tuesday August 7, 2007.
