Minutes from AAZK meeting February 1, 2007

• May 25, 2007 some sort of fund raiser will be held, bring ideas of fundraiser to march meeting.
• Conference update-

• Agreement with zoo may be at the executive staff level to look at. Bruce B. will be gone for a couple weeks if he doesn’t look at it before then, there will be a delay in it being approved.
• Chapter logo and conference logo- Lori V. is thinking up of ideas. Are we interested in creating a new chapter logo. Discussion of the chapter logo being the same as the conference logo until after the conference so that we bring as much attention to the conference as possible.

• ICZ visit-steering committee members will be in Seattle staying at the Red Lion Hotel (place where the conference will be held at) from 3/10-3/17, some may be staying longer. Is anyone interested and willing to offer up a place for a member or two to stay at if there or some staying longer than the week. If you are interested contact your board members.
1. airport pick up and drop off- if you would like to pick up and/or drop steering committed members from at the airport let your board members know.
2. 3/13 meet and greet at the zoo
3. 3/16 Friday trip to Pt. Defiance, they would like to see the zoo and there are some that will be contacting AAZK members down there to us with the conference.
4. Seattle tourist packet for ICZ visitors- Tammy, Joanna, and Felicity will be working on this.
5. Goody bags are being worked on, any ideas or if you would like to help let Carolyn know.

• Discussed candy sale- buy candy bars from a certain warehouse shopping place around here, and sell them around the zoo. These will not be being sold to the public. If you are interested in selling candy bars, let Pat, Carolyn, or Maureen know. This was done for the Chicago conference and they raised a considerable amount of money.
• We will be re-evaluating the soda machine fund raiser since the offices at Camp David are moving. Roz will talk to Jim Maxwell and Pepsi about mobbing the machines.
• DVD- one month to finish, Chris has sent out an e-mail about the meeting one Wednesday to finish/continue working on this. If you are interested please come to the meeting.
• Don’t forget about the Leather Elves Brown Bag the we are sponsoring. It is on Tuesday February 6,2007.
• Adrianna brown bag- Monday February 12,2007. She is the keeper we have supported in the past.
• Website Conference info and link to ICZ site is on there, we would like the link to our website on ICZ’s website. Pete will need updates about conference as they are made. T-shirt sales link is on website. A link to our website is on zoonotes.
• AAZK central office is being discussed, we fill you in as more info is finalized.
• Cell phone project is suspended, not terminated, we haven’t received many lately.
• Heidi Fund- e-mail went out, if you are interested in this send and e-copy back to board members. We will have a two week deadline from the final date of acceptance for us to get back to those who have applied.
• A membership sale was voted on and passed. We will hold this at the book sale (to start with and may continue at other events) anyone who would like to become a member if you sign up at the book sale and pay at that time, AAZK will pay $10.00 of the membership fee. Tell everyone, you do not need to be a keeper to join AAZK, some of our more active members are not keepers.
