Hi all,

The Puget Sound Chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers (PS-AAZK) and Woodland Park Zoo (WPZ) will host the first joint conference of the American Association of Zookeepers (AAZK) and the International Congress of Zookeepers (ICZ), in September 2009.

The conference will be held September 24 th-29 th, 2009 with optional pre- and post- conference tours.  We are estimating that there will be approximately 350-400 delegates from the U.S. and around the world attending (225 from the U.S. and 150-200 from 30 different countries). This conference will be a significant undertaking, requiring thousands of hours of preparation.  We’re looking forward to a fantastic conference, which will showcase our zoo and our city!

In order to organize and plan a conference of this magnitude, we will be forming committees and hope that WPZ staff and volunteers would like to serve as members.   

For all staff and volunteers interested in becoming involved in the 2009 conference please come to the Education center classroom 2 at 12-1pm on Tuesday June 5 th or Friday June 8 th to learn more and sign up!  We hope to see you there J
