invites you to the Annual Bowling for Rhinos Event!

When:

Saturday July 29, 2006
Check in anytime between 5 - 6:00 PM 
Bowling will begin at 6:00 PM.

Bowling Cost:

$20.00 is the cost for each bowler.  This covers 3 games, shoe rental, food donated by Aramark, and soft drinks. 

Why:

To have fun and raise money for rhino conservation!  Each bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $30.00 in pledges from sponsors. (Please solicit flat rate donations rather than 'per pin'.) 100% of the funds raised go to rhino conservation in Africa and Indonesia!!

Who:

EVERYONE!  All zoo staff, volunteers, friends and families are encouraged to participate. 

How do you sign up?  Bring a $20 registration fee and see any of the following people for your sponsor sheet and further instructions.

Checks should be made payable to 'AAZK Inc.' The sponsor money must be turned in on the night of the event. 

Gather up a team of 4-5 bowlers if you like, or we may match up individuals and smaller groups in order to average 5 people per lane.

Bowling skill is not important! We want to have a good time and raise money and awareness for rhino conservation.  **We will have prizes for the 5 highest fundraisers at our event.

Don’t forget! The top FOUR money raisers nationwide will win all-expenses paid trips to the rhino sanctuaries that we support.  Winners will have the choice of visiting Ujung Kulon, Way Kambas, and Bukit Barisan Selatan National Parks in Indonesia, or Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya! So if your goal is $1,000 or more, you have a shot at winning one of FOUR trips. The winners must be paid AAZK members at the time of the event---the good news is anyone can join. The winners must have raised at least $1,000 to be eligible.

In case you didn't hear, with last year’s event we have raised over $68,000 in 5 years!  Nationwide the total to date is well over $2.1 million.

We have reserved the entire bowling alley just for Woodland Park Zoo!

If you do not wish to bowl but would still like to join the party, you may pay $10.00 and indulge in the food and snacks--just let us know ahead of time so we order enough.  If you don't wish to partake in the food, by all means just show up and cheer the bowlers on, and please consider sponsoring one or two! 

We also plan to have a raffle and are currently looking for suitable prizes--please let us know if you have any donations. 

We need a few volunteers to help with raffle and t-shirt sales the night of the event. Also needed are a couple of volunteers to organize the raffle in advance of the event. You may reply to this email if you are willing and able to help.
