Wentz, Becca - Keeper I, North Carolina Zoological Park North Carolina , USA I received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Delaware in 1997 with a major in Animal Science and a Minor in Biology. I was lucky enough to obtain an animal keeper position at the Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington , DE in the fall of 1998. While at Brandywine I got a good background working with a variety of different species from snakes to callitrichids and even large cats. By 2000, in addition to my zoo keeping duties I had also been assigned the task of being registrar for the institution. I have been a member of AZA and AAZK since 1999 and have attended several AZA professional schools and conferences. In spring of 2007 I accepted a position at the North Carolina Zoological Park as a zebra, ostrich, giraffe and red river hog keeper. I have been an active member of the NC chapter of AAZK and I am currently serving as Secretary of the organization for the 2009 year. When not caring for the animals at work I am kept busy with my personal zoo; a horse, dog and two cats.
