Kimberly Wanders graduated from Baker University with a BS in Wildlife Biology in 1997. She did an internship and volunteered as a wildlife rehabilitator for five years. Kimberly became a zoo keeper at the Kansas City Zoo in May 1999. Currently, Kimberly is assigned to one of the African animal teams, but she has experience with a variety of animals.

Kimberly has been a national and local member of AAZK since 2001. Since joining AAZK, she has served on the Kansas City chapter board as secretary, vice president and president.
