Tammy has been a keeper and/or aquarist since 1987. She has worked at three different zoos and is currently working at the Indianapolis Zoo as a Senior Aquarist. She’s been there since 1997 and has been a principal investigator in Project Penguin (a research project in determining ways to increase breeding success) for several years. Over the past few years, she has also been the Chair of the Behavioral Enrichment Committee. Throughout her career, she has trained and enriched every class of animal. Tammy has also written and self-published two books that have sold worldwide for teachers. As an avid participant in local AAZK Chapters, she became a member of the AAZK National Enrichment Committee in 2005 and in 2006, she became a member of the AAZK National Animal Training Committee. A year later, it was an honor to accept an elected AAZK National Board position for a two year term. In 2009, she was elected again for a four year term.
