Kirstin Clapham has been a keeper at the San Diego Zoo in California , since 1998. She is currently a Senior Hospital Keeper. From 2002 - 2007, she was a keeper of large cats, bears, wild dogs and primates. Prior to 2002 she took care of various hoofed stock ranging from dwarf antelope to giraffe, as well as small carnivores. In 1996, she graduated from California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo, California with a degree in Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine, focusing on work with sheep and pigs. At Cal Poly and the Zoo she's been involved with nutrition, reproductive physiology and behavior projects. Kirstin's been happily married to Brett since 2001 and is the proud mom of two boys - Tate, 5 and Drew, 1. She is excited to be attending and participating in her first conference.
