Svoke, Joseph. T - Carnivore Keeper III, Zoo Atlanta

Most people would say that I am a very busy person, between normally working two jobs and going to school. At the moment (that I am writing this) I am trying to get back into the swing of things after returning from my second stint in Chengdu , China , where I was collecting behavioral data on giant pandas. For over the last 3 ½ years I have worked primarily with the giant pandas at Zoo Atlanta, though I periodically work with the lions, Sumatran tigers, Clouded leopard, Asian-small clawed otters and Meerkats. Before heading to Zoo Atlanta, I was working at the Kansas City Zoo for over 3 years, working with a variety of animals there. People within my current department sometimes refer to me as the “enrichment guy” as I always seem to be thinking of new ideas as well as creating them. Most of my spare time currently is being filled with pursuing my masters degree in neurobiology & behavior, and trying to get my thesis research underway. There never seems to be enough hours in the day, but I guess if there were, I probably would get a third job.
