Jessica Stein is a primate keeper at the Denver Zoo in Denver , Colorado . Since she was just a little girl, she had always dreamed of working with primates. Despite many people telling her that it was a hard job to come across, she never gave up. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison receiving a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. While in college she gained valuable primate experience working at the local primate lab as an animal technician, doing summer internships across the country and volunteering at animal shelters. She moved to Colorado in 2002 and immediately became involved with the Denver Zoo. After many hours of volunteering and interning within the primate department, she finally received her dream job as a primate keeper. Today she works as a relief keeper within the primate department which houses 25 different primate species.
